I am enthusiastic about teaching and learning and another school year at the legendary Pasadena Fundamental, and honored to continue serving a school community defined by traditions of academic excellence.

My commitment is to 100% student success—supporting every student academically, socially, and personally while fostering a culture of high expectations, belonging, and opportunity.

I believe that continuous learning is essential for both students and adults. We were all students at one time, and throughout our lives, we remain learners and teachers. As educators, parents, and community leaders, we all have an important role in teaching, guiding, encouraging, and inspiring the next generation.

I will work tirelessly alongside our students, staff, families, and stakeholder community to honor the traditions that make Pasadena Fundamental special while also embracing new ideas, innovation, and opportunities for growth. True school improvement happens when we learn from one another, remain open to new possibilities, and work collectively toward a shared vision of excellence.

As someone who grew up in St. Petersburg and attended Pinellas County Schools, this work is deeply personal to me. Education is part of my family, as my parents and extended family members have served as educators. This year marks my 29th year with Pinellas County Schools and my 20th year as a principal. I have had the privilege of serving as principal at Madeira Beach Fundamental School and Lakeview Fundamental Elementary, and I began my career teaching elementary students at Lealman Avenue and Maximo Elementary Schools.

The success I have experienced throughout these years has never been mine alone. It has been made possible by the incredible students, families, teachers, staff, and school communities I have been privileged to serve.

As we begin this school year, I look forward to continuing our legacy of excellence, learning together, leading together, and ensuring that 100% of our students have the opportunity and support to succeed.

Sincerely,

Mr. Chris Ateek
